"Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." ~ 1 TIMOTHY 4:12

My passion is to help young people know that they are not alone on their Christian Journey. I was blessed to work at Boys Town (Father Flanagan boys home) in Nebraska and Father Flanagan had a quote that has stuck with me through the years. “ There are no such things as a bad boys or bad girls. Just bad environments.”
I believe it's our job to show them the community of Faith and to help them grow into loving, mature Christian disciples who will then go and share their lights with the world.
I encourage you if you are a teen who is looking for a place to hang out, to have fun and grow your faith and nurture your relationship with Jesus, please join us. You are ALL welcome here.

American Baptist Youth
The Junior and Senior High School years are ones of transition, change, and challenges. ABY is here to help support you through those transitions as you strengthen your relationship with Jesus and grow deeper in your faith. If you aren't sure about your relationship with Jesus or if you haven't decided yet upon a path of faith, that's okay too! Joining the other students at ABY is a perfect way to begin your relationship with Jesus and to have a caring, nurturing support system as you begin your walk of faith.
Through our youth program, First Baptist Church is dedicated to providing meaningful Bible Study and lessons that are relevant to the difficulties and challenges faced by students in their everyday lives. This isn't about stuffy stories that feel disconnected from the reality of your lives but rather about nurturing a relationship with Jesus that will help you with the very real difficult moments you face as young adults.
And did we mention the fun and games? Because we've got those too! We recognize that students also need a chance to connect with one another and just unwind with a round at the ping pong table or a quick game of basketball or to just plop on a sofa to eat some ice cream and shake off the stress of everyday life.
ABY On the Move
We don't just sit in a classroom and talk about our faith, we put our feet on the ground and share it through example by working in missions each summer!

Mission Trips
Every Summer ABY participates in a mission program called TeenServe. TeenServe gives students the opportunity to serve people in communities across the country by painting homes, building ramps, and performing minor home repairs for those who are unable to do those things for themselves.
At the same time TeenServe offers an amazing opportunity for students to connect with other teens from all over, to worship with praise bands and Christian artists, and to share their testimonies as they grow their faith in an inspiring week of work and worship.
Our own Andrea Newsome was interviewed by local news about her TeenServe experience during the summer of 2016 TeenServe event in Butler, Indiana.
