A lifelong American Baptist, Jim came to Pontiac in 1990 after serving two American Baptist Churches in New Jersey. He was ordained in 1981 and received his Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate Theological Foundation.

Jay has been in the Ministry of working with people for 30 years.  Music has always been a big part of his life and Jay especially enjoys worship and praise through song.
